TMS 54 | Gifts Of Legacy

After a near-death experience, Natalie McQueen realizes the importance of living life without regrets and leaving nothing unsaid. It dawned on her that leaving a legacy centered on precious moments is more important than providing an inheritance. Gifts Of Legacy: Creating Memories That Outlive You With Natalie McQueen

It’s so great that you are here again. You haven’t heard from us in a while because I have been traveling so much and it’s stunning. People may say, “I’m going to revamp my show.” If you are going to change things, just say, “We are making some changes.” We will be recording every week on our podcast channels, YouTube, Apple, and all that fun stuff.

We have a lot of business partners that have joined us, and you will get to know a lot of them. You’ve all got to learn Joseph McClendon. That was cool. Twenty years with Tony, his experiences, and where he came from. That went on for 90 minutes. It’s supposed to be twenty minutes but he’s got that many years of experience. He has been in front of ten million people. That’s phenomenal.

Everybody knows how I do the introductions. I do them very lightly and usually, let the person earn the right, and Natalie could do that in a second but I’m going to do a little bit of an introduction because it has been printed out and typed for me, and then we go from there. If anybody has any questions, you can always look us up at TheMentorStudio.com. We love to have all of you as part of what we do.

We are still at the end looking for mentors. We need about 50 more mentors, and then we are going to open the doors for the membership. We’ve got JV deals for eighteen months. You don’t have to come with me and do a JV deal. That, we’ve got lined up but we are looking for others of you out there going, “I am a good mentor.” Somebody said, “I have been a parent of 11 kids for the last 12 years.” I said, “Only twelve years? How old are your children? How many did you have in a row?” She started laughing. She’s like, “No, I was thinking of ages.” Have fun with what you do but we are always looking for more mentors. You can always reach out to us directly.

There are 200 events have I emceed in 2021 and then maybe 2,000 over the last years. We will do it from the stage perspective. I have inspired people around the world to create, live and leave their legacies for future generations to enjoy. I love that because The Mentor Studio is myself and Mary Glorfield’s legacy. This is our legacy piece. This is what we are leaving to our grandkids.

Natalie McQueen is our next speaker. She is a five-time international best-selling author, including her released, Gifts of Legacy: The Ultimate Blueprint for Generations to Enjoy. She has been certified as A Mindset Mastery Coach in the study of the Masters of Personal Development for over several years. She has created a one-of-a-kind system that guides business owners and entrepreneurs like you to create connections that outlive you.

Gifts Of Legacy: The Ultimate Blueprint for Generations to Enjoy

As a legacy designer, Natalie’s approach is to implement easy and doable daily steps that create something important and meaningful to both protect families and preserve their legacies of wisdom, traditions and stories. She is here on our show to share with you the components of your legacy blueprint and how to start living with all of your guts. Natalie, I wanted to welcome you to the show.

Welcome, Natalie.

Thank you.

It’s great to have you on. I have on the show with me too, Dawna Campbell. She has her own amazing product. She’s also become a trainer and going to be a lead trainer with The Mentor Studio. We have already put her in London and all over the world in stages. She ran a whole show live for us in December, and it was brilliant.

She’s brilliant at what she’s done. She’s handled over $500 million of other people’s money, which is always a good thing to do. She’s created healing for those around the world, which is what it’s important to do. She’s going to be my co-host moving forward. Natalie, the thing that people always want to get to know, and this is one of those things, is if you could give us a little bit of your background because people want to know where you came from and then something about yourself that nobody else knows.

I went from dental straight out of school. I was in surgical assisting, and that was a lot of fun. I loved being in the ER with the doctors and getting to put people’s mouths together again but that was a lifetime ago. We moved to the US, and my degree didn’t cross the border. I’m originally from Canada.

What part of Canada?

I’m from Ontario.

We have a lot of students and mentors in Canada.

After that, I started with marketing and sales. I went back to school. I dabbled in that and then became a stay-at-home mom. I’ve then got into the natural world. I worked for a chiropractor and a naturopathic doctor, and I loved that world. From there, I went back into marketing and sales for a little bit and then went into corporate. I was with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney for years, and that was fun, too. I loved everything I have done.

Several years ago, I got introduced to the world of book publishing. I absolutely loved helping other authors get their stories and wisdom out to the world. I have helped publish over 250 authors and bring them to international best-selling authors. It has been busy, and I published my very own book on February 17th, 2022, which is the Gifts of Legacy book. That book comes from an experience that I had on vacation in Cuba. I had a near-death experience there and that completely changed my mindset. That’s where Gifts of Legacy came about.

That was something that I was wanting to ask about because you have a book, the Gifts of Legacy. The Mentor Studio is all about leading a legacy. I was going to ask you if we were to read your book, what would be the top three tips that you might have in there with what you learned about legacies?

TMS 54 | Gifts Of Legacy
Gifts Of Legacy: Volunteering is one of the most giving things you can give to yourself. You get so much back when you are helping others.

The first thing is to look around at your current situation and assess. I have a legacy blueprint, and the first one is to assess where you are. “Are you happy in your situation of work, relationships, physical health, mental health, and all the areas of your life?” Do a personal assessment, and then where you are coming up short, make a game plan. We would go through all the steps because sometimes we hold on to beliefs or a belief system that is ingrained in us and no longer serves us.

When you look deep, and you can let some of that go and create the life that you want to create and be the person that you want to be, not what others think you should be. That has been a hard one for me. I have been a people pleaser most of my life. I don’t like to rock the boat. Sometimes you’ve got to rock the boat to live the life that you want to live.

It is those shifts. It’s the things that we look at in our lives because we have a tendency of going back to the center. Way back, that cave was our safety. There were things that we knew we needed to keep coming back to, and if I went past my territory, I would probably got eaten. We step out, “It feels good. I’m feeling great.” The problem is we start to move back. We do that subtle shift a little bit on coming back to the center. What is the suggestion from you of how I stay out there? How do I start to move forward?

That’s so important because you are right. We want to go back into our comfort zone. What we do is we look at what doesn’t serve us, and then we create what I call your Legacy List. It encompasses everything from the trip to Europe or Disneyland with your family. “What are the achievements that you want as a person? How do you want to impact your community? How do you want to impact your family? How can you impact the world?”

Sometimes, especially women, do not give themselves enough credit for how they impact their families with the little things that they do every day. They don’t realize that child growing up is a better person for having that mentor, that mom or dad doing those things daily. They are learning from them and looking at our traditions and values. That’s super important when you are living within what feels good and creating out of that spot, then you are being your authentic self.

Creating that legacy list, it’s one thing to write it all down but then looking at that first assessment where you are not happy or it doesn’t even have to be that you are not happy. There are so many people on the hamster wheel of life. They go to their job. They work every day. It’s an okay job that pays the bills but they come home, turn on the TV and do the same thing day after day. They are not completely fulfilled. If money was not an object, they wouldn’t be going to that job.

Sometimes, you have to rock the boat to live the life you want to live. Click To Tweet

Looking at how can you be fulfilled, help others, make a living, and piece those things together, the legacy list is a guide but you have to put it into actionable steps and create the steps. Maybe you can’t jump out of your job and go do what your passion is immediately. You might have to continue to work and then every day work on 2 or 3 things that can get you towards your real passion.

The clients always say, “There are so many systems and things to do.” It peaks over a million students, and we hear the same thing, which was, “Where do I begin?” It’s always that. What are three simple steps, abilities, actions, whatever it is, you could give our audience now that they could read this, walk away and start using?

I know it’s self-promotion but get my book because the entire legacy blueprint is in there that guides you through those steps. It’s self-assessment. Sit down and take time to journal. Start your day, instead of pressing that alarm and snooze over and over, and then you get up, and you are on the run out the door, give yourself some time to think, do some journaling and gratitude of what’s great and working in your life.

Reach out to me. I would love to help you with planning your legacy. Everyone is in a different spot but the goal is not to be 80 and look back and say, “I have so many regrets of what I would like to have achieved. I wish I had more impact on my community or my kids. Instead, I worked all the time.” As an entrepreneur, it’s very easy to get into that working way too much and sometimes allowing the necessities or the important things to go by the wayside.

I truly love the idea of leading legacies and putting together a legacy list. I want to know what’s on yours. What’s on your legacy list?

I am so guilty of overworking. During the time that I wrote my book and published it, I had eight other books to publish. It has been a super busy time. I said to my husband, “It’s now our time to get our date nights back on the calendars and have that quality time together. One of my biggest things is focusing on the relationships in my life.

TMS 54 | Gifts Of Legacy
Gifts Of Legacy: Every day, you have a new start. If yesterday was a crappy day, it’s okay; it’s behind us. You can sit today and start creating what the rest of your life could be.

One thing I do every day is I call it Your Three Touchpoints and that is reaching out somehow, whether it’s through a text, phone call, email, handwritten card and letting somebody in your life know that they are important and that you are happy that they are in your life. It doesn’t have to be a twenty-minute conversation. It could be a text message, “Thinking about you. I hope you are having a wonderful day.” Those are the little things that could make someone’s day.

With my family, we have a group chat. We will often put something funny in, and we all can laugh at it. You stop in the middle of your day, and it gives you that reprieve in the middle of your day to laugh. My daughter is in flight school. She’s had a lot of flight exams with the FAA going to the next step of becoming a pilot. When she sends the message, “I passed,” and she takes a picture, we all get excited. It’s keeping the people in your life close and go the little extra mile.

That’s a huge piece because what it does too, is it takes yourself outside of yourself. There’s that place of us where if you can be of service, it makes a big difference. “Am I serving others?” Especially some people say, “I’m not sure where I want to go or what I want to do.” I’m always like, “Great. Go help in a soup kitchen for a day. Go help others for a day. Get outside of yourself.” “I’m still trying to find myself.” “That’s great. While you are finding yourself, go be of service to others and see how that flips that switch.”

You are exactly right. Volunteering is one of the most giving things you can give to yourself. People think you are doing someone else a favor that you get so much back when you are helping others.

First of all, is your book on Amazon? What’s the best way to get it?

Yes, it is. The biggest thing is knowing that every day we have a new start. If yesterday was a crappy day, it’s okay and it’s behind us. You can sit now and start creating what the rest of your life could be. Don’t live your life with regrets and take time to love yourself and give yourself that time to create and live the life that you deserve.

Life is like a camera. Focus on what's important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don't work out, just take another shot. Click To Tweet

That’s what makes a big difference.

If you had a favorite quote that you would share or use, what would it be?

This one, I ended my book with it’s, “Life is like a camera. Focus on what’s important and capture the good times. Develop from the negatives. If things don’t work out, take another shot.”

Thank you so much for being on the show. Remember, it’s the books and courses or those things that we do that make us who we are. One last piece, Natalie, what’s a great book you have read that you would recommend to others? Something that started you out. For me, it was Think and Grow Rich and Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, too.

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is one of my favorites. I have been reading a lot. I’m reading one now, and it is called Ask, and It Is Given by Esther Hicks. I love that mind stuff and her beliefs.

It has been great to have you on. We always welcome you back, and for myself, Dawna, and The Mentor Studio, we are so pleased to have you on. For everybody out there, you can purchase her book, and it’s an investment in who you are. It’s becoming better at what you do every day. For those of you who are joining us as mentors, we are down to about a month of taking mentors, and then we are moving to members, and you will have to go through an application process.

If you want to be a mentor with us, this would be your time to do it now because we need about 400 mentors to pull off what we are doing. It has been great to have all of you on here. From myself, the show, Natalie, and Dawna, we wanted to thank you all for being on the show. It’s great to have you on, and have a wonderful day. Goodbye, everyone.

Thank you.
